TDF dive trip reports - a researchable facility - Discussion Thread

Some very informative travel reports on here. It is my idea that I go through the reports over the winter and collate them into researchable country groups in separate threads. Discussed this with Mal and he agrees. Maybe make them sticky at the top of this Trip report forum. Watch this space :-)

Reports 'written by divers for divers' . Now where have I heard that?

FWIW, I suggest you break it up a little more - rest of the world would classify the Caribbean in the same group as Indonesia! So perhaps add Caribbean Sea, Coral Triangle and Australia, and Pacific instead of Rest Of The World? Maybe change Maldives to Indian Ocean too?

Am working my way through UK and the Med at the moment. With Mal's permission hope they will be online sometime next week.

Then start working on the rest which are now:

Atlantic
Middle East
Maldives
Caribbean
Coral Triangle and Australia
Pacific


maybe add Americas?

Re "Americas", they should be already included in the above? That said, do you have any reports that don't fit into the above categories or are in places that people wouldn't think belong to the categories (California springs to mind)?

Sounds like a really good idea - thanks for doing this. As you say "by divers for divers"! Just one thought - maybe the Galapagos would deserve a special section too as it is on so many folks' bucket list. Not sure if there would be enough posts yet tho' Also Southern Africa - picking up the sardine run etc and Mozambique

I could be biased but I think Ireland should be included, after all it is the home of some world class diving

Don't know if it is feasible, but it would be cool to have other useful links on the stickies - such as info on good/bad times of year to go (I seem to spend half my planning for dive holidays looking at that!)

Attempting to keep this simple so I am working on a UK page United Kingdom including Southern Ireland. Hope this is acceptable.

Remember all I am working on reports to TDF and only them.

Really appreciate the feed back. Very keen to get the UK page online first.

The Dive Worldwide website is excellent for that. Has a 'when to go' calendar for each destination

Reports ‘written by divers for divers’

TDF loves hearing about diver reports from all over the world, especially from our home waters here around the UK. Feel free to continue sending in such reports in the way that has been tried, tested and enjoyed by all of our forum members.
There has been a feeling that the thread could be made more researchable so this is an attempt to make this so by going through our travel reports and adding them here to make them accessible to all member as a dive holiday resource.
This thread will be available for feedback but please do not place any of your reports here. Just keep going with our current system. The links to the research facility will be locked and not available for comments.
