    orca spins turtle with nocnosee

who knew lol just watched this and can only imagine the poor turtle is probably having a coronary during this especially as the orcas left it after using it for hunt training. Found it on msn earlier how lucky was the guy who filmed this must have been amazing to see.

I rather suspect it didn't survive the experience of being 'played with' for 30 mins; being terrified and unable to breathe regularly is never a good combination, especially when being dragged round by your propulsion method.

Play is education learning to survive. I was fortunate to be able to grab this shot of young sealions playing with a starfish watched over by a large adult who I did not get too close to. I think unlike the turtle the starfish nervous system is such that the may not even have noticed it's temporary role.

Evolution is great at solving problems. It's the methods that concern me.

Apart from the indignity and probable vertigo it is likely the turtle would have survived as they can breathe hold for a fair while.

Yes they can, but how does your breath holding go when you're terrified and having your arms wrenched around?
