Nearly 40% of Guinness is consumed somewhere in Africa. Of five Guinness-owned breweries worldwide, three are in African nations. Nigeria, home to one of those five breweries, is the world’s second-largest market for Guinness consumption. Great Britain is first, Ireland comes third, Cameroon fourth, and the U.S. in fifth place.
The most guinness sunk was by a German.
SS W. M. Barkley, built by Ailsa Shipbuilding Co., Troon in 1898 and owned at the time of her loss by A. Guiness, Son & Co. Ltd., Belfast (Dublin), was a British steamer of 569 tons. But its all about knife crime - we know that because Boris says so. So he is afraid of a vote. If he wanted to galvanise the opposition to him within parliament then he has just done it. I really hope that the talks yesterday will now intensify and the MPs there will cut the crap and vote for a second referendum and quickly so that it can get through the Lords too.
In other news Johnson is thought to be loading up the Lords with Leave supporting peers - in the wider world this is called gerrymandering.
So I am now wondering whether this is an attempt by Johnson to break the record set by George Canning - that of the shortest tenure as Prime Minister. If he goes before 19 November the record is his. Personally, I wouldn’t be too bothered if he were to break it spectacularly and set a new bench mark of, say, 36 day - tomorrow. Go on Johnson, you know you want to do it.
