    Aircon car con?

Wow, it isn't cheap to find out what is wrong with my car's aircon before I decide if I want to afford to repair it!

You could be generous and add ice to the water.

At least you can open your window- mines closed and despite ford saying there’s nothing wrong (based on plugging a laptop in) it still doesn’t work

An hours diagnostic time at a main dealer will cost you (dependant on area) 70 plus, prestige brands substantially more. There is a shortage of Technicians in the UK and most dealerships have limited capacity and high demand. It could just need a re-gas?

ATS sometimes have offers on air con checks and regas. Last time I had it done was 40.

Find an independant old guy who does car air con. They should charge about 50 for a regas. This will include vacuuming down the system to a full vacuum to check for leaks. They should then recharge the system with the correct weight of gas, plus oil and uv dye. If there's a future leak, shining a uv torch should show where it's leaking.

Mine needs a new evaporator, which is behind the dash, so that's my job one day soon. until then, I'm parkign in the shade during the day!
The major difference between a thing that might go wrong and a thing that cannot possibly go wrong is that when a thing that cannot possibly go wrong goes wrong it usually turns out to be impossible to get at or repair.
