Am I the only one that thinks that the rescuers should have been allowed to remain annonymous until after the operation?

The media will be plaguing them and their families for details.

One diving "journalist" and I use that word as loosly as possible as her writings are for the sale to the highest bidder seems very keen to show she is inside the loop
Rememeber anything you read on the internet was probably written by some guy sitting at home in his underpants! Including this !!

    Bugger.

Just shows how damn ruddy difficult it will be to get the kids out.

Apparently he was an ex-navy diver who had volunteered to help with the rescue. Condolences to his family.

Such a shame and thoughts go out to those involved. It appears that his air ran out on the return trip from delivering tanks on the route.

Would these guys be on re-breathers?
    Paul.
If God had meant us to breathe underwater, he would have given us larger bank balances.
Human beings were invented by water as a means of moving itself from one place to another.

No I don't believe so - due to a collapse, one of the passages is so tight that you can't have a back-mounted cylinder.... also the reason that "piggy backing" the kids out is challenging.

The other challenge is the current and the lack of visibility (apparently so bad that they couldn't see their own SPGs in parts)...

    EDIT: My mistake!#

"The divers are flying 13 cylinders, four rebreathers, tubs of sofnolime (a substance that absorbs carbon dioxide in a rebreather), three drysuits and a pile of A clamp adaptors" stated Gavin Newman.
