How important is the equalising the air in the glove, I have only done about 6 dives in mine (with a maximum depth of 28m), but haven't equalised at all?

If you have sinewy wrists like mine, all you need to do is make a fist to break the seal and equalise the glove.

Making a fist doesn’t help with equalising for me looks like string or something similar
    For me.

I use a piece of bungee , about 12cms long , knot either end. Keep it the bag with your gloves plus some spares. Others use thumb loops on their undersuit sleeves. I like the bungee in case I need to remove it I can just pull it out.

My wrist seals are just leaky enough / wrists stringy enough that I can equalise.

I once dived with no seals under my SiTech gloves. Once.

They were super comfortable and the warmest they've ever been, but they popped off my hands every time I raised my arm.

Quite. And more important the deeper you go.

I pull through my base layer under the seal. I know that some including Wibs will be along to tell me off in a minute that cutting the glove will give me wet arms but I just don't cut the gloves; think my current pair have been on since May 2019 which is about 100 UK dives ago.

It’s a matter of when, not if. Even a pinprick lets in a load of cold.

Had a blenny the other day who tried to bite the top of the finger off! Aww, bless

Trim. And hands not touching the wild life, I had dry gloves for many years. Then brought decent wets
Although you telling the ex chairman of BSAC NOT to do something, gave me a chuckle. Iím sure one of you is right.

I also pull my loops through to equalise, the only thing is that theyíre not around my thumbs. On the 2 occasions Iíve punctured my glove; 1 when using bungee & one when using loops, itís made zero difference to the state of my undersuit sleeve. Tucking them under the seal vís pulling the bungee is a split second.
