    Ah ok thanks String, now you have put it in that context, I am sure I will be happy with the gt-5. I don't know much about cameras and assumed they could do more!

    Yes, the size of the cam appealed to me, being waterproof to 15m, the cost, quality of pics I had with the gt-2 at closer range. I'm more of a shark man than wreck man for size. One disadvantage with the tg-2 was the delay between shots when taking pics of sharks, I believe this is not such a problem now?

    Does anyone know what the log lever on the olympus underwater (tg-5 camera) housing is for please?

    You can log your dive - depth, temp and GPS position. I think it even has a compass!! I'm not sure I'll be leaving my computer at home but more toys to play with if you get bored of taking photos and videos!!
