    Gauge Readers.

Hearking back to the solution of what to do about reading gauges without the problems of getting varifocal masks or something, I was running through Vienna airport today, and saw a board advertising compact pince nez for reading.

Might help somebody so I will leave it out there.

I didn't see that. My flight in was late and I literally had to run up two floors and the length of the terminal to make the flight out. Still, possibly cheaper than a prescription mask.

Tried that, 3 surfaces to most up instead of one.

I have found, on this trip when in both my 2 dioptre gauge readers in two masks stuck in and produced by Axis Optical, one lens in each fell out. Admittedly after several years of use. That I had a good result with only one 2dioptre reader in my mask. The dioptre in my right (non dominant eye) was still in place and I found it easy to read my gauges but also better to focus via my viewfinder (not LCD sreen) with my dominant eye. I don't think I will get the lens stuck back in that mask. But I await diving in lower light circumstances to see if the advantage of one lens correction is still there. I had 20:20 vision until age related lens stiffening meant I could no longer see gauges clearly.
Evolution is great at solving problems. It's the methods that concern me.
