    FREE: Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop

Free to a good home, or a bad one, I don't mind.

In all seriousness, if it's useful to someone's club/charity whatever then all the better. As such I will give preference to someone who wants it for a club/charity.

    Dell Inspiron 1525
    15" screen
    Intel Core 2 Duo (T6400 @ 2.00 GHz x2)
4 GB RAM (although Linux is only showing 2.9 GB)
    320 GB (ish) HDD
    DVD drive
32 bit I assume, given the age

Was running Vista, has now been wiped using DBAN - https://dban.org/ to clear all of the old data/OS etc.
Has a fresh (as in put on there tonight) install of Linux Mint 18.1 Cinnamon edition - http://blog.linuxmint.com/?p=3181 so there is a working OS on it. I've added nothing extra other than what installs by default (I'm not a Linux person, so I have no idea what it comes with, a quick browse shows Libre Office, GIMP, that sort of thing)
Does not come with Windows as I don't have a CD, although the product key sticker for Vista is on the bottom of the machine if you want to download and install it yourself. Not sure where you would get Vista from though.

It's SWMBO's old machine, and has been sat in the cupboard for a couple of years. I've not tested how long the battery lasts, but it still runs off the battery, so holding at least some charge. Charger comes with it as well.

A couple of pics, and yes, I know the screen needs a wipe.

    General shot

    Battery
Looks to have used around 5% in 10 mins, although it wasn't doing anything, just sitting there on full brightness

It's not an amazing spec, it's old and reasonably heavy. However, it works, and has cost you/your club nothing, so it doesn't matter if it gets broken/stolen.

I will even post it to you, for nothing, but it won't be insured signed for special next day delivery, it'll be whatever is cheapest.

If nobody wants it by the end of the week, I'll leave it at the recycling point in the local tip.
