    newbie

well, having dived oc since 1998 I took the plunge and did mod 1 in March and ordered a unit. My inspo turned up yesterday. First dive without responsible adult tomorrow. Unit is prepped and gassed, checked, etc. Scrubber packed and ready. Hoping this will stoke my fire as OC diving was done to air limits for me and I preferred the idea of CC trimix and Malin head as an end game - but that's a while off yet. I plan to get some shallow diving in and grow my experience and capability. Big thanks to Lance at LP Diving for staying till 8.30pm tonight to take me through my unit again and make sure it is all done and checked properly. Brilliant service.

    Enjoy the silence
Malin is a great spot for rebreathers (I could be biased)
and would be an ideal spot to do mod2, some lovely
    qualifying dives could be had.
    Enjoy the journey you've begun.

Very similar story here, switched over in 2014. I'm the other side of a trimix ticket now and couldn't dream of doing it any other way. Enjoy the dives.

    Switched in 2001.

    Helium, because I'm worth it.
Waterboarding at Guantanamo Bay sounded like a radical holiday opportunity until I looked it up.

You will not regret it. It is the only way to do deeper dives.

It was in 2010, whilst diving Malin Head on OC, I realised the obvious. I booked mod1 immediately after returning and kept the unit I trained on.

I agree with Capt Morgan that Malin Head is best done on CCR. Finally, after a false start in 2012, I made it back there last year and the trip report is on here.

It was grim, and I heard they have just been repeated so others have suffered as we did.
