nope, that's a 7Ltr cylinder. Still not a bad deal though.

About 440.25 from AQ. Which surprised me...

You need to select the cylinder (Luxfer AL40) and add the rigging kit which comes out at 209, then separately select the DS4/ATX40, and add an SPG, which comes out at 231.25.

If you ring the shop and ask for Liz, she might be able to do you a little smidge off the regs, but frankly she's a proper northern monkey, so don't be surprised if you get a robust discussion. The only people who haggle harder than the Iranians are the Yorkshire folk...

It is light and perfectly formed, with wonderful buoyancy characteristics, and is, without any doubt, the best all round stage cylinder, so long as holds enough gas for your plan.

Nothing wrong with Scuba Pro. However, having already gone with Apeks my advice is stick to Apeks. That way, all the bits are the same and if you get into servicing there is only one set of spares needed. I would also agree with others and suggest you use a normal gauge with a 6" hose and not a button gauge.

You could make your own rigging kit, it's simple and you can make sure
you are getting a nice big eye on the boltsnaps as it makes it easier to hold.

How to rig your stage/deco bottles

Essentially the same thing. Nearly neutral when full of air, slightly negative with rich nitrox.

    7ltr ≈ AL40
    11ltr ≈ AL80

    Except an Ali40 is 5.6L, not 7L

Useful if you're working out gas consumption. You wouldn't want to expect it to have 1400L only to find it only has 1120L when you need those last couple of hundred.

The ali 40 (5.6ltr) is about the same height as a (non-dumpy) steel 12ltr, but much slimmer. If you move up a size to the ali 7ltr, you're then looking at something wider and bulkier, much more the actual dimensions of the 12 ltr steel. Even if itcomes in useful further down the line for more serious diving, with a twinset and deco, for instance, it leaves the OP without a pony-type option for any simpler, less cluttered diving he might want to do.

And even if he moves on to a 7 ltr further down the line and decides the ali 40 is no longer for him, rocking horse poo should fetch a decent second hand price, surely?
