    Is Woz lurking????

Cos if he is and needs cheering up about the BSAC digital offering he should go take a look at the BCU website - looks nice but tells you ****-all

I just spent 20 minutes trying to join for my son (bank of mum & dad plc) who is training as an outdoor instructor. Like BSAC your instructor qual doesn't work unless you are a member. Well I have no idea how to join him up - they say he needs to be a full member but he is 19 so could join as a sort of junior and save 10 but it doesn't tell you anywhere if a junior works for this or he needs to be an adult member despite being in years a junior. So I then go further - what exactly do you get for your 45? Not a clue - it doesn't actually say. Check the FAQ - a bizzare list of 5 questions that no one needs to know the answer to. Massive membership guide to download - lots of screenshots of how to fill in the on line form!

Still dont know exactly what membership gets you and consequently BCU are currently 45 light - makes BSAC look brilliant and they get gazillions from the lottery for the Olympics. Bet their Council meetings are a load of laughs!

Not another: the CTC is now known as Cycling UK

Maybe BSAC will soon be known as Diving UK

if it wasn't for the insurance and discounts at certain stores I would have let my CTC , sorry cycling UK membership lapse this year. the way Chris Juden was treated was abysmal. I have no idea the direction they are going but it is not good so far

The major difference between a thing that might go wrong and a thing that cannot possibly go wrong is that when a thing that cannot possibly go wrong goes wrong it usually turns out to be impossible to get at or repair.
