Thanks for all the advice, seems like I need to get in the water with a couple to compare. May just need to do a trip to England to try a few out as no where over here seems to stock decent torches!

I got the same one as The Baron but with the 11ah ACCU (what does that mean anyway?). Very happy with it. Took it and my Light Monkey light sabre for deep dive or two together and I have to say the wider beam is much better for actually illuminating thinks to look at. Signaling is less distinct but then no one pays any attention when I signal anyway.

    Accumulator.

The technically correct name for a rechargeable battery. Is used more on the continent.

Another vote for the L4M NW7. Stonkingly good torch. The button is now recessed, so no accidental switching on.

What is the customer service with L4M like in the event of a problem?
Remember anything you read on the internet was probably written by some guy sitting at home in his underpants! Including this !!

my mate had one with the old magnetic twist switch, it had to go back to Poland last year, he didn't have any moans about the service but it seemed to take quite a while as you would expect

Fortunately, I can't say, as I've had no problems
