    Thoughts on Ultrasonic Cleaners

I'm lurking in the ultrasonic cleaner world, trying to buy something suitably large for first stage parts and powerful enough to do more than just tickle the bits.

A search on Amazon revealed the top sellers to avoid - namely JPL. I've found an unbranded 1300mL bath for £30 on Amazon, link below. Any thoughts? (And yes, I know that if I wait long enough, Lidl/Aldi will have something, but I'd rather buy something people have tried and lived with).

Bear in mind this is a nice-to-have for me... I don't need a workshop-sized one or something with an intelligent timer that will do my ironing as well.

    Input appreciated!

I got one from Maplins a few years ago, it's really good, cleans really well with warm water and a small amount of white vinegar.
My only complaint is it is a bit small at 750ml.

I have just gone and bought a 3l one which by the look of things will take a first stage with room to spare

For a few quid more you can have one with more power (60w), a heater, and timer.

the text on the listing is interesting.

Please kindly be note: During cleaning, the“ZiZi” noise is normal.

Note: Everytime when you turn on the machine ,the working time should not too long ,please pause 5 minutes to radiating after it worked about 15 minutes ,in order to better protect the machine , and reduce the failure rate. Thanks!

I take it these aren't continuously rated but they are flippin cheap.

Been using mine for over a year now, touch wood, with no problems.

The plastic one I bought, like the one in the OP, lasted six weeks.

    YMMV

As far from the sea as we could be, except when we can actually get in it.

Bowl of warm water on top of the speaker tower works quite well. Only makesa zizi sound when playing albums by american bands whose members have peculiarly long beards.

I have had similar one for the last 5 years and it does the job fine.

These do look better and more practical than the one I have ( like the OP ) Good price too.

We paid I think about £300 for ours, but that was a few years ago when all you
could get were the stainless ones used in dentists. Sits in the shed now and
insead use one from Maplin which heats the water as well
