Beat me to it.

Another thing that you could try it to leave it outside for a few weeks to weather. Maybe it is the UV light or the acid rain, but a mask which has spent the winter languishing in someone's back garden never steams up.

I too have M1s and rotate them as primary/backup. I always spit in the backup just before stowing in pocket pre-dive.

Just a little note of thanks for all of the replies...

I popped both into the dishwasher (took the straps off first) - whacked it on a 50 degree was (think it ran for about 3 hours! Sorry environment!) - have tried both since and both seem fine now... one did mist a tiny amount, but it really was a tiny amount, certainly no where near as bad as it was..

Really appreciate the tip and all of the feed back.
