The way I read it you have to take the voucher and pay for the bags at the airport when checking in.

    Dear Paul
Yes,Voucher/s must be presented at check in order to get 50% off on your diving equipment i.e. Euro 20 per bag. You can either pay by cash or by credit cards and we accept major credit cards.

Yes, that's right; present and pay at the airport.

    Dear Nickb

sorry for the late reply. I have checked with our Safety & Compliance Section and they have informed me that any battery exceeding 12v has been excluded carriage by passengers. In addition, oxygen cylinders can only be accepted for transportation if they are completely empty.

    regards

    To give an update.
The voucher or website didn't give a huge amount of info, but all I had to do was visit the air Malta desk to pay for excess baggage and present the voucher.
They was even kind enough to print us off an extra voucher.

Is Air Malta still a BSAC travel partner? I can't find a link for them any more.

Go on the air Malta web site and download the 50% off voucher.
    Here's the link
    http://www.airmalta.com/sportsoffer/
Then when you go to the airport it's even cheaper.
They are superb though. My inspo in its crate was too big to fot on the conveyor belt so the woman asked me how heavy it was so I replied 26 kg and she just said take it to oversize baggage.
Coming back my bag weighed 24 kg, inspo box was 38 kg and hand luggage.10 kg. again no problems.
I paid up front, some of the others used the vouchers and two didn't get charged at all.
Air Malta you are superb plus food and drink on the plane for free.

I think it's great the way Air Malta has offered these incentives over the years to the diving fraternity.
They do a good deal, their offers are clear and transparent and diving is a key promotion area in their tourism.
Not many other airlines welcome divers so openly.

A warm water dive then a cold beer. Makes sense to me!
