    Oh, the poor dear!

    Background reading

    http://www.nwpolfed.org/pay-and-conditions/

Which puts her bang on average wages for north wales.

And the 1200 is a take home, not top line figure, and also bollocks, as entry gets a pay bump for service as a PCSO, which is virtually a requirement for entry with NWP.

Time for a career change, find the same or better anywhere else.

2300 take home is in the region of 38-40k pa. That's a pretty decent salary plus a very decent pension. Median income in the UK is about 31k. Pension is what? Fuck all for most people?

The usual "I'd be better off on the dole or flipping burgers" whinge. OK, go on then.

Besides, McDonalds is a pretty good career if you get on the management stream.

She needs to sack that accountant, he doesn't know what he's talking about. I'm fairly certain most people on the dole would swap it for a 40k salary.

Maybe we can get trawling for scallops banned - the option of a lower impact fishing method would be great news!

No - it will very quickly become a "same impact - higher take" method...

And they will pot areas that they can not dredge, I remember diving an area of Mull that was rocky bottom compared to the dark side of the moon dredged sea bed next to it; that was well populated with scallops.
Just end up de populating the rest.

Police should be on a decent wage for one reason and one reason only imho. If they are struggling, they become more vulnerable to manipulation and more easily compromised. A copper under financial strain is more susceptable to corruption and that threatens your security

A 40k salary is more than decent in the UK, more than most people are paid even in a lot of the professions. If you can't run a household on that then there is something seriously wrong. So we should pay for her financial mismanagement? Where do you draw the line? Do you just keep upping their salary the more debts and outgoings they run up?

If financial hardship does make someone vulnerable, and the taxpayer is footing the bill, then it seems fair that getting into unaffordable debt should be considered misconduct. As she says herself, maybe she should be doing something else.
