How long before the Daily Mail tries to turn this into a crusade?
I saw this on the Mail website yesterday. Two fire appliances and a dozen firefighters attended. For a small dog trapped in a revolving door. Although some reports did say the bloke walking it was injured too.

Right next door to my old office in the soon-to-be-demolished Market Towers. BBC are saying 2 dead 2 injured so far. I could see the plume of smoke from my office in Victoria.

Three guys in my office arrived having travelled right by it on train/tube/changed at Vauxhall and hadn't noticed a thing... after the crash! It's right on m walk home so I think I'll take a slightly different route tonight - go to a different sainsbury's on my way home.

Is that we the public call the 'black box'? Would it not be compulsory?

Yes...and not necessarily. The crash recorder is only compulsory for aircraft over certain weight and passenger numbers. It gets further complicated that not all aircraft need data recorders. There are three types of crash recorder:

CVR - Cockpit Voice Recorder (records audio only)
FDR - Flight Data Recorder (records Parameters such as pitch, roll, altitude etc)

              Combi - records both

Another type is coming which will do all the above plus image recording.

Anyway...suffice to say an AW109 is not "required" to have a recorder fitted but Agusta did make the decision to fit recorders wherever possible as a matter of course. The 109 was one of the borderline cases.

                Here is the news....

The image recording reminds me of an air accident of a Russian airliner where they let a teenager fly the plane only to crash it killing all aboard.

The images can be very useful but hope they don't become public in future for TV documentaries.

Ouch. I presume you won't be paying the accountant, or that they have professional indemnity insurance?

Currently they're not focussing on the crew.....they'll be recording control positions and instruments only

Unfortunately, I already paid him. I have been in contact with him about it, and he is blaming my former employer, for sending the wrong form. So.. pft... I have to pay it.

I sure won't be using him for my next tax assessment.
