As far from the sea as we could be, except when we can actually get in it.

Up at the Roaches, not that long ago, a family set up their picnic/bbq on a convenient spot to watch firemen and rangers damping down ..

Some dope near me was launching fireworks last night. Fields are bone dry, air was roasting and a nice wind blowing, perfect for firing a load of burning chemicals into the sky. Wasn't even dark which makes him even stupider. If there's any justice in the world he'll be missing a few fingers today.

Saw this in our local wrag last week and found the idea of this gorilla gardening very amusing and very community spirited...

There are clumps of wild cannabis in Normandy which were planted by the Vikings, still there after a thousand years.

Strangely, opium poppies are perfectly legal to grow here provided you have no intent to harvest the resin.

Pool approved as open water training site. The way this year is going I fully anticipate a confirmed alien landing by Hogmanay.

Interesting that PADI gets involved with approving ANY site. Does this mean that if a site is not approved by PADI that it should not be used as an open water site?

It depends. Can we make money off approving your site and you having our badge on your marketing materials? If yes, then please submit your paperwork and appropriate fee.

Common sense would suggest that if it is a pool inside a building then it's probably a good idea to ask how far you need to stretch your imagination to consider it open-water. Maybe if you open the windows wide.

40m pool is open water to the same extent that a 6m quarry is
