Every meat eater should spend some time in one .
I had a visit to one when I was about 8 or 9 years old.
I'm hitting 60 now and I remember it all to well .

Here's some animal management that needs doing doesn't involve killing them:

Anyway it's breakfast - time for a bacon sarnie
We give 350m a week to the EU. Let's give it to Dido Harding instead.

No, but it involves killing a lot of other things to make sure they survive, especially in Australia. There's always killing.
Definitely don't doubt Dawn - not if you value your life

Australia really has had the shit end of the stick from us Europeans. Plagues of mice and the like. Worst of all we exported our people and our values there. Maybe start killing some of them off?

    Have you been to Australia?

I would say we left our values to fester in isolation, while European "values" generally evolved.

I went to one as a nipper, they wouldn't let me have a go with the bolt gun.

No, in fairness I have not. A very very good friend of mine was mad keen to go and eventually got transferred by work, met her hubby and now lives there on an Oz passport. She says it can be a bit too blokey/racist for her and she sometimes wonders why she went. (I have many tooth marks in my tongue)

I get the impression it is like many countries - that is two places. backward, rural, racist, conservative and urban, multicultural and modern. Like here the two don't much mix and if you are in the "wrong" place you generally have a miserable time of it. I fear my views on the first nation would not endear me to people who otherwise are much like me (rural and a bit thick )

During 5th form the careers dept used to organise visits to local employers and further education, one popular trip was to Usk agricultural college, "highlight" of the day was watching live chickens being processed to oven ready.

Urban and multicultural are not really inclusive in Oz.

My Brother lived out there for nearly seven years, it was the multicultural bits that drove the racisim.
He came back with a very low opinion of Turks and Indians, based upon working with/for them.
His Dr gf had a limited opinion of the Balkan refugees that were filling her hospital at the time (late `90s early 00s)
When my brother left Oz, his then gf was a coptic christian Phd student of egyptian extraction.
Her father offered my brother $10k to fo as he was not a Coptic. (used to be a choir boy at our local parish church).
The bigotry for race and religion out there was eye watering.
