Does this mean that the previous reducing availability of helium is going to be reversed so it will be cheaper than ever to go the trimix route?
Does this create helium then? I must admit I do not know much about fusion.

I am not sure you want to breathe the output

All you need to know is that's it's 20 years away (and always has been).

They were laying the earth works when I visited ITER site in 2009. Since then there has been a lot of building activity, however it was this month that they lowered the first of the tokamak components into the pit so I can understand why the BBC went with "construction has started..." line.

ITER has a plasma volume of 830m^3 yet if I recall correctly less than the mass of postage stamp in fuel (in the plasma) at any given time.
What is the annual helium consumption per year....?
Why is it that with everything in life I always find a more difficult way of doing it (and not intentionally)

So, to create power, you have to use masses of power to create high temperature and pressure, which you then use to create power. I think I am missing something here.

On the contrary you have encapsulated the problem of fusion power in a nutshell.
