Deco tags for a shot line

After completing my first TDI course a few months ago I am at last doing my first deep sea dive.
So what do people use for tags on the shot line and am I right in thinking I will need two?

Just a P clip with some duct tape with my initials on it. Some I have seen use P clips with cableties / key rings / nothing etc on them. It really doesnt matter as long as you remember to drop one and to take one off
Remember anything you read on the internet was probably written by some guy sitting at home in his underpants! Including this !!

Depending on the skipper you may not need any. Some are happy for divers to bag off from the wreck, others from 21m. Some do insist on a shotline ascent. You'll only need a tag (singular) if the skipper is using a lazy shot.

I walked into a sign maker and had four 2x4inch 'name plates' engraved with 'nigelH'.
Drilled a hole at one end and fitted a big clip.
Totally OTT but I'm like that.

    Helium, because I'm worth it.
Waterboarding at Guantanamo Bay sounded like a radical holiday opportunity until I looked it up.

I have a laser engraver so for a large fee could custom make tags
I have nothing to do with BSAC any more apart from being a muggle member. So anything I write on here is likely to be complete bollocks. Hooray!

I just use the plastic knob from a cylinder valve attached to a clip, don't bother with my initials on it. Ever since I was told I had to, I've refused .

I know it's mine that's all I need to know... I find it easier to hold when clipping on/off.

If you do not use something that clearly indicates it is your tag and not a random clip left on the shot you run the risk of having the lazy disconnected before you get there. Two friends one using a plain clip the other using a clip with a small weight had this happen to them.
