We have made some updates to the survey. This update is based on data collected in August 2017 by a team of 4 rebreather divers. The main updates include a survey of the dry section between sump 2 and sump 3, improved detail on the sidewalls & sections in the deep section of sump 2 and a correction of a previous depth errror at p.1050m.

Survey (v.1.4) is available here :

A really good achievement by all you guys.

The only other survey I've seen that's any good beyond deep sumps is Marcus' survey up to S6 ressel.

I genuinely find it very impressive!

However, I think your scale is breaking down a bit between S2-3. I really don't remember those rifts being 1m wide! :P

I’ve not really drawn any cross-sections in the narrow bit (the last 100m before sump 3.) It is quite narrow at water level and the walking route is higher up. I’ve not got a sketch of it, but may be able to create it from the video.

One of the challenges with drawing a 2D survey is chosing a height in the passage to draw the plan at. This is much worse in the 45deg diagonal awkward areas. The cave may be 8m wide and 8m high, but you have to squeeze through. I’ve generally chosen the typical level for swimming/walking. Swimming/Line level underwater and walking level in the dry.

I was just being annoying! If you actually drew it at 1:1000 scale it would just be a line from my memory!

          Mostly, amazing achievement!

            This illustrates the problem :

Yup! I certainly went along the bottom there!
