I'm assuming that if I fit my Vyper into a console, that the contacts are still accessible for the Suunto data transfer lead?
Or am I wrong?

in theory yes, in practice I found mine was hard to connect whilst in the cosnole.

Thanks for the info.
At the moment I've not yet decided whether to go the console route with the Vyper.
I have an Aladin nitrox which lives in a console when I'm using a drysuit, but have it wrist mounted when wetsuit diving in warm water.
I like the convenience of the console, but there were some occasions when I needed a third hand to look at it!
Cheers

I found moving to a bungee mounting made life much simpler.

There are no silly straps to fasten and you can slide it on/off quite easily.

I had a console but it was annoying and gradually reduced to a lonely pressure guage.
Excepting hire/loan equipment the console is a solution where one is not required.
