Thresher shark for sale in Exeter

I asked on their facebook page if they thought it was acceptable to promote and trade vulnerable non native species, the comment was removed and I was blocked.

Please feel free to keep their admin busy for the weekend...

Comments can be deleted but I don't think reviews can, so everyone merrily giving them 1 star reviews now and putting in the review why!!!

              Now this makes me mad.

My O/H Rich Walker has been heavily involved with the TSRCP for several years now. Simon Oliver is a British based guy running the project with some fascinating discoveries. http://www.threshersharkproject.org/TSRCP/Home.html

His aim is to help educate the locals that the threshers are a much better source of income alive (diver traffic) that they are on dinner tables.

I never thought we would ever see the need to have to educate a developed country - never mind our very own.

They've banned me from posting or liking. Which is a good thing, as it means they have read my comments.
It's also a shame, as I was going to tell them about the very comprehensive email I just sent to the Exeter Echo and Express, with photos, screen grabs, their comments and links to shark conservation projects.

Hope the editor has a backbone....

Think they took them down...not getting too many good ones this evening apparently..
Even if it was by catch, you'd think they would offer some explanation..but no...someone is just very hard at work deleting things which might cost them customers.

Interesting, it sounds like it is illegal to retain, tranship or land some species of thresher shark. In some areas it is also illegal to retain, tranship or land all species.

I would avoid making a big deal out of this on their Facebook page, largely because it might tip them off before the local enforcement officers turn up to inspect this and take appropriate action tomorrow morning.

Of course, if they were to read this and subsequently cut it up or try and dispose of it that would also be against the law, but of course it's not like we don't have a massive picture of the thing and a list of their customers as witnesses.

                              Digs.
