Otherwise you end up dragging though loads of finished threads. I marked mine but it does not change the initial description.

You can edit the inital post to something like:
Thanks for looking but the item is now SOLD
Just change the font and size colour etc
I don't think you can edit a thread title, but I have been known to be wrong, occasionally.

I think a moderator should be able ot change it for you.

Would be nice to add strikethrough as a formatting option for sales thread etc.
some forums allow the & as tags for this.

Could the seller not ask a mod nicely to close the thread once everything's sold?

Or there be a modify feature to state it's sold/close thread (other than writing it in a post)

When buying (or selling for that matter) it's useful to be able to go back and see old threads to get an indication of the going rate for something.

Agree, but a flag in the listings wouldn't effect this

As this is something that would be useful to the membership, I'll look into it.
The forum staff are busy enough without having to manage this. It needs to be self serving and not open to any form of abuse.
Any solution will go through a trial so see how we get on. If it affects the forum in a negative way, it will be withdrawn.
