This was the perfect size, but EJ have changed their rules slightly recently - they do not guarantee your bag will be in the cabin if the flight is full, unless you have purchased speedy boarding etc.

They have a slightly smaller size that is 100% allowed in. I book speedy boarding / front row anyway, so it doesn't affect me.

It can easily hold a laptop, and regs will bundle up fine in there. Computers will squeeze in anywhere, if you don't have a pouch for them socks will do the trick.

If you are thinking of carrying lenses in a fishing Gillette then putting them in a neoprene drinks can holder is good protection from knocks. Or for anything else that needs a bit of TLC and fits.

When flying SleazyJet, I put the heavy and fragile things in my carry on bag. I take the hoses off my first stages and have the first stages with me, but the bulky second stages go in the hold. Housing with camera in it, laptop, batteries and torch head all come into the cabin. Dive computer, camera lenses, strobes and the metalwork of the strobe arms also go in the carry-on.

On my recent trip to Budapest, I had 20kg in the hold and 21kg in my carry on!

The only disadvantage is that I now get my bag taken apart every time I go through security - 4 times out of 4 on the last 2 trips.

Cheers, Chris

I share some info: Regardless of what type of trip you’re on, there are several steps you can take to ease an overseas journey. Here are 10 of my favorite international travel tips

 Fraud alert
 Credit card chip
 Travel alert
 Data roaming
 Unwanted local currency
every thing should be must for travel.

If you're flying from Manc they've just implemented the new Yank security requirements regarding devices with batteries in hand luggage.
