Has anyone used the Gekko2Vyper software patch to allow the user to connect Suunto Dive manager to the Gekko and download the dive details? If so, how successful was it?

I used it years ago. Did exactly what it said on the tin - worked fine with no issues.

Me too. You only have to run it once - to tell the Gekko that it's a Vyper :) - and then it just connects to DM3 with no problems.

If you have no particular reason to use suunto software, look up Subsurface which will download your gekko anyway

Same here. I did my gekko a couple of years ago, with no problems since.

I made this thread (http://www.yorkshire-divers.com/forums/f54/downloading-dives-fron-suunto-gekko-72443/) on the other forum walking you through the process.

As others have said though, if you just use something else instead of Suunto Dive Manager this is not needed.
