OK so just curious.. got a Petrel (without VPM) a couple of months back and have been diving it standalone on my vison, it pretty much matches the unit for deco when they have the same gradient factors (i run 80/90 with Air dil).

So assuming i switch the computer to OC only and go and do a dive with someone on a sunnto - what sort of gradient factor would best match the modified RGBM in the D6 or Vytec ?

Was thinking of giving it a go tomorrow.

TBH I'd just do each others stops and don't worry about it. Just leave your Petrel as is and do the extra time to clear both computers.

Do you mean Low GF = 80 and High GF = 90.

And that matches the Vision ?

Very interesting. I guess this is 40m if air Dil ?

When i say matches the vision - yes they match the settings i use on air dil, whilst have trimix enabled i am not yet certified.

The Nov 2012 manual lists out the GFs for the nitrox settings (from manual p103)

Nitrox Setting
1 (least conservative) 90/95
2 75/95
3 90/90
4 75/90
5 75/85

I've played around with most of the combinations to see how they fair against OC divers who i dive with and i settled on 80/90.

I'd never considered setting substantially different gradient factors for shallower air dives. Or even when going in for an OC single tank holiday dive. I just tend to leave it set at 30/80.

Now I will think about it though. Thanks !!
