Heaviest snow since 1963, apparently

Light flurries with the odd whiteout/blizzard. A light patchy dusting on the floor now.

Yeah right! Modern snow is heavier, is it?

The result is showing an odd percentage distribution?.

No, 'cause, see, it's allowing for all the air in snow flakes. If snow flakes didin't have air in them then they'd be 100% snow?

Another good fall of snow overnight, off to fix some heating systems and rescue a few damsels in distress. The fire truck was put to good use yesterday.

Nope but its bloody cold out there. Merino thermals coming in useful walking the dog.

Do you get to stoke up any old boilers?

I'm still at home (having awarded myself a 'snow day'. Water is now dripping off the icicles and there are blue patches of sky showing. It was great fun walking back in the snow last night (esp as there weren't any big kids about to scare me). I used my walking boots for the first time (freebie from work) and I was treading in all the deep snow and kicking it up (think "Singing in the Rain").

Mixture of sunshine and hail down here, not as windy as it was yesterday. It was bloody freezing getting out after our night dive last night!

What? You went diving at night last night? No wonder you never saw the wreck; it must have been dark? That mystery fish with the stripe? Piece of rust!

I keep coming back to find out what fish it was and you've done absolutely no research (beyond asking on here) have you? Well, I can tell you that I'm going to send the Turbanator a PM to advise of your woeful fish finding performance! There! What've you got to say about that then?

I think it might have been a product of the cold and narcosis. I might look through some books tonight. Don't worry, I'll tell you as soon as I find out what it was. Not that you care, you're only interested in spidge. I've got your measure, young fellow-me-lad.

Saturday 23rd. Yes it is.....just peeked out of the window. But nowhere as bad as other places. Then chased off the squirrels from eating the bird seed!

Had around 6~8" yesterday, which has settled and then another dump of 3~4" last night.
Around 10" of heavy snow lying now and its still snowing.

Spent an hour and a half digging the close out yesterday morning, nearly an inch came down while I was at it.
Somebody else can dig it out this time.

Got to dig the car out now and go to work.
