    Jardines De La Reina

    Hello,

First post on here, so hello to those I recognize off another forum and also to those I'm not so familiar with.

I went to this place last month and had a great time, thought I'd share some pics.

Set up Nikon D90 + 60mm and tokina 10-17 ( subsee reefnet used on some macro shots too )

    Hope you like them

      Wow. Nice photos.

Just looked it up: Small chain of islands off the south coast of Cuba, and Fidels favourite fishing area - now a national park.

I've wanted to go to Cuba for some time - but torn between travelling inland, diving and being in Havana for the music (and taking my trombone).
Jardines de la raina is where the diving will be. Reef looks to be in great condition.

        Thanks for the kind words.

The video link you've put up there pretty much tells it how it is. No smoke and mirrors. It's extremely well protected and there is a real sense of pride with what they have. Diving conditions are fantastic too.
Viz is fantastic and conditions are calm and relaxed. No current and great for photography.
You can only go via liveaboard as it's 6 hours sailing from mainland. We did a week on the boat with 3 scheduled dives a day, the guides are happy to do more if you wish and didn't charge a penny extra.
Food and service on the boat was the best we've had from a dive team.We booked with 'The Scuba Place'. Again, cannot fault their service, a chap called John runs things and top bloke.

We stayed in Havana for 5 nights too, which was fantastic, it's a fascinating city with so much to offer and hard to get bored.
Here are a few pics from Havana.

Wonderful photographs, and show your versatility as a photographer, with the lovely macro shots of the blennies and the gorgeous wide-angle shots with the sharks. Thanks for putting these up!
