Rucks are naturally occurring phenomena that increase in frequency to proportion to the number of people available and willing to share contrary views.

Sometimes they happen, sometimes they don't. They are not (imo) a desirable or enjoyable part of any forum but when they do naturally occur that's just life. However, encouraging or deliberately trying to start one is just a waste of everyone's time. I might like puerile humour but I'm not so keen on puerile behaviour, which is what deliberate ruck-creation is.

"The Pope" thread...

Oh, I see. I avoided that thread because I didn't want to expect "nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition".

Our chief weapon is surprise. Surprise and fear....

....and an almost fanatical devotion to the Pope. I'll come in again.

Still one of my fave MP sketches ..... along with the "what did the Romans ever do for us" and "it's only a flesh wound".

What I am getting fed up with is in nearly every thread with a slight difference of opinion, someone saying "Is it friday?"

It's just a saying ..... like "nod's as good as a wink to a blind bat" or "By my trowth, thou dost make the millstone seem as a feather what widst thy lard-bloated footfall!" etc?

:)
