First dive on my new redbare yesterday - superb it was sooo much easier to dive than my old sentinel. The latest version of the software nice, logical and quick to respond. Personally I'm not sure I like the apeks mouthpiece, doesn't feel as comfortable in the mouth as the old Poseidon one (even though I use apeks on oc) so Martin kindly gave me one to try. If you like ferreting in holes then this unit seems slimmer (at least I got into places in vobby's underwater toys that I couldn't with the sentinel). WOB ace, buoyancy control easier (could be I'm a better diver now, difficult to compare but giving how little ccr I've done in the last four years I'd say the unit was flattering me). HUD easier to see in bright light (smaller more intense led), and the alarm sequences are more sensible. Easier to break down to clean and allow to dry, charging via some proper plugs rather than Fischer connection that was always a bit flaky.

I'm not at all disappointed with this purchase and I honestly don't believe that anyone currently waiting for theirs won't be either

Must be too soft.

Must be too soft.

I've spent years working 7 day weeks - no longer interested. Most of the time the issues could have been prevented so I don't see why I should bust a gut if the parks cant be bothered to enact recommendations. In fact as from april I'll be a wage slave with defined hours, may get a life back at least it'll only be one company wanting stuff done as apposed to the eight I currently serve. The fact that I'm being paid more than I made being self employed has helped to offset the loss of some freedom ;)

So Rik said "I'm collecting my RedBare tomorrow, do you fancy a dive?".

As the sea has been unfriendly for months I hastily readied my very dry dive gear so we could head to Vobster in the early morning, ahead of the daily Portland traffic jam (caused by the installation of a new electricity supply).

After installation of the latest software, and gathering the pieces into something that seemed to hold pressure, we got ready to dive.

With Rik not pausing to pose I captured a few pictures and then spent my time chasing him round the cold quarry.

I've seen much worse from people who think they are awesome!

I (clearly) needed to do a weight check too! :)

(I know it showed before I removed the excess lead)

If you want to have a laugh and see really bad trim, head to Vobster next month.

:OMG: You going? I hope you've warned the fish they'll need to eat well beforehand as nothing will be visible!

Training?

To be honest, the Redbare trims out very similar to my old travel frame... Although saying that I remade the travel frame in 316... But because the cylinders were mounted to the frame, and not the stack, they could be mounted higher to trim out better.
Redbare I use two 2KG(ish) blocks in the trim weight pouches, old frame needed none.
Much, much prefer the counter lung position on the Redbare though!!
