I'm looking for a blanking plug to replace the 7 pin fischer socket on an AV1f.
Am I right that this is an M14×1mm thread, and does anybody have any idea where I might find a blanking plug to fit ?

I'll have a look in my box of bits - I'm sure I have some M14 x 1.5 plastic ones but not sure about M14 x 1

That's very kind of you. I'm talking to tecme.de who're going to make one for me.
I got the type of plug from the AV1 manual and then got the threading from (what I'm hoping is) the same plug from narked@90. There are so many possible sources of error that I'm really just looking for confirmation of the threads.

If you get stuck let me know as I can make you one in Delrin or Stainless if I cant find one.

Finally managed to find my box of plugs - I've been tidying and forgot where I'd put them - but there was nothing that small.

M14x1 5 is standard for spark plugs, if that's any help?

These are M14x1.

I measured the threads and they looked to be closer to 1.5mm. If that fits and makes the housing waterproof so much the better.
Now I just need to work out what the 12 connection points all do and I'll be all set.

That would make sense - M14 x 1 is very fine and M14 x 1.5 is fine and more common.
Are you just wanting to plug the hole?
Just done some searching and Fischer quote M14 x 1mm for a lot of the panel mounts - see http://www.farnell.com/datasheets/1271240.pdf page 34 onwards

Have you asked Alexey at UWT?

I'm just looking to plug the hole - neither I nor my computer do constant ppO2.
I'll see how it goes with the 1.5mm and let you know.

So. I got my beautifully made M14×1.5mm delrin blanking plug and now I know that the way you measure blanking plug sizes isn't the way I thought.
I've got an M14×1.5mm blanking plug for sale if anybody's interested.

Have to ask - how did you measure it?

I've done some googling and I'm pretty sure that the connector is M14 x 1.
The bicycle parts I linked to are probably the cheapest way of making certain.

I eyeballed the thread pitch and got that right and I used a vernier calliper on the inside of the hole and read 14ish mm. Apparently I should have taken into account the depth of the threads.
Live and learn, hey?

I later learned that the particular housing I have had a cable gland in place of a fischer connector.

So probably M16 x 1 or M16 x 1.5?
M16 x 1.5 is a standard cable gland size - a standard off the shelf blanking plug is as on the left below, right hand one is an M12 stainless one

The 1.5mm threads seem to fit and the officially 14mm plug I have slides easily into the hole so 16×1.5mm seems likely, yeah.
