Has any gbox owners experienced cracking of the lower back corners of their boxes, ie. The 90° corners where the case cover sits flush against?
I have been trying to get in touch with manufacturer for the past 3 weeks, email/website contact page and even Facebook but I haven't had any reply as yet? Thanks

I can't help with the box but it looks like G is on vacation in Italy, so I guess that could help understand why he is not responding quickly.

As a direct consequence of some misguided folk deciding it was sensible to put dive equipment in a large heap I had cracks on that same weld. The box returned to its maker who stripped it down, welded it afresh and then gave it a fresh coat of paint. It looked almost like new for at least a week.

If you just want to stop the crack propagating further, just drill a small hole at the end of it, or slightly ahead of it strictly speaking.

Yeah I've made some enquiries about having it rewelded and reinforced, hopefully have it sorted next week.

I don't know much about the box, is it stainless steel?

No, the box is aluminum.

No, the box is aluminum.

Is it actually welded? There is a new brazing system for aluminium which is:

a cheap as chips
b p*** easy to do

but sadly is

c crap

I have seen a number of fuel tanks fabricated this way recently which have cracked along the "weld"

Yeah I had a go at it myself with HTS - 2000 rods, looks easy on YouTube sadly not so in reality hence looking at getting it welded properly.
