FFM RB Training

I've just bought a second hand Drager Panorama FFM for my AP unit and am trying to find someone who can offer a days training to become familiar with using it.
I'm not after any kind of certification, just the skills on how to dive safely with it. After a few google searches and enquiries, I've draw a blank.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?

No definite suggestions sorry but I would try speaking to Neil Brock at Bristol Channel Divers who will probably know the answer from media diving experience. Otherwise AP themselves or the usual commercial suspects, Puffin, Fort William etc.

Out of interest, and on the assumption that you are going to use a bite valve, why an FFM? Will you be plugging bail out gas into it or relying on going for a half mask if you need to bail to a stage? Is it the improved feel and vision you are after or about warmth or contamination? Can you have pp practically with a rebreather? Sorry for the 20 questions but I do like FFMs (although an Aga man here) but have very limited knowledge of use with rebreathers.

It's the warmth I want during the winter months which swayed me to buy one, I feel the cold more than most. I have a p-port for my Shrimp bailout valve so bailing out won't be an issue, and as you righty assumed my ffm has the bite valve.

Cool, interested to know how you get on with it. I've got a panorama I'm tempted to buy the R-pod for and have a do with it.

Although I was just going to play around shallow with it, there's not that much to them. So long as you can purge it, clear your ears and swap to a normal mask if needed.

I wouldn't trust puffin for anything safety related that was more (or as) complex as shoelaces.

I teach this, however it's not as straight forward as you think. With your mask do you have the reg that fit's the 'P" port? if not then it's a really good option to conside. Also the FFM doesn't work that good without the R pod. That is a bite piece rather than a nasal cup.

Personally I think that the Kirby Morgan MK48 is a better option as when you bail out as you don't loose your mask as well.

I found a KM48 really claustrophobic.

I am thinking of getting some P port to apeks adapters machined up. Did wonder if it was possible to buy just the TX100 rear body piece with P port to build the guts from another reg into

I have the Golem gear shrimp P port adapter for the ffm, so bailing out is just the flick of a switch, no need for any mask removal. The mask is also fitted with the R pod you mentioned earlier.

I dived the KM48 mod1 and the nova. I Prefer the Nova . Much more comfortable and better view. I had the p ported shrimp with the bite piece and a apeks 1st stage in the second p port on the side. Worked nice .

I never bothered taking a class, played with it a few dives: you can easily unplug the p ports under water, then Flood your mask, clear it again. Take it of and put it on under water....just play with it in the shallows a few times . I also putted a p port on my other BO so I could swap if I wanted to.
