Yes, a quick phone call to Apeks should have answered this but all the numpty Doris in Apeks sales could say was "I don't know..." Twat!

Could you please let me know which model Apeks first stage is shipped with the JJ and, if possible, the part number of the 5/8th DIN 232 bar thread for the first stage?

When my new JJ arrives I want to swap out the M26...

Thanks, Tim

I wouldn't have thought that someone in Apeks sales would deserve to be called a numpty twat for not knowing what first stage a JJ-CCR rebreather is shipped with.

Frankly, I'd have thought the person ordering the rebreather should either know that information or know where to find it.

Jez is correct, the first stage is the US4 and the part you need to swap out the M26 is the DIN conversion kit. Give Brocky a buzz at Bristol Channel Diving, he'll almost certainly have that part in stock or be able to source it quickly.

I would however expect them to know that the part number for a DIN connector is AP0211

Which is why I suspect that this thread is perhaps more about announcing to the world the imminent arrival of a JJ rather than (as Nick said) asking what should be obvious to anyone experienced enough to be moving to a JJ..... ;)

Apeks: Good afternoon, this is Apeks, how may I help
timmoranuk: Hello, I have an Apeks US4 with a yoke clamp and would like to convert in to a DIN. What part do I need?
Apeks: Ok sir, we can help with that. You need the AP0211, would you like me to send one out to you?
timmoranuk: That would be great, thanks very much.

A derogatory term for a supposedly unintelligent woman

Thanks for your help, I appreciate it. Oh yes, unfortunately neither the reg spec is included in the JJ literature nor do JJ answer their phones.

It's on their website. Took me a few seconds to google.

But - there's never any harm in asking a question.
