finally, below shows my front hoses to mav's along with spg's, offboard quick connect for bov and also o2 feed which can be plugged into bov to supply onboard o2 at 6m if the sheit really has hit the spinny thing

The next issue i had was trying to figure out how to protect the head threads and sealing surfaces whilst letting it dry out. Seen lots of posts on proper covers, pots etc but thought the JJ beanie was a nice, cheap and semi elegant solution to my issue along with old greenforce light head bag as handset protector

very interested in any comments or suggestions for improvement, especially around how to get 1.5 litre suit inflate on backplate successfully without it dangling at my knees or beyond my elbow.

Otherwise, hope you like my efforts and thx again to Ramo, NickB and Andris for help and guidance on JJ related stuff

Do you find your greenforce cable is long enough when mounted like that?

Good question, my buddy has videod me each dive and the umbilical sits perfectly along my arm and is just long enough with no slack

you've almost managed to get it looking like a proper unit now. (apart from the superfluous suit inflate cylinder)

you've almost managed to get it looking like a proper unit now.I reckon there ought to be a law against spoiling a perfectly good rebreather. Where are the Dive Police when you need them?

...especially around how to get 1.5 litre suit inflate on backplate successfully without it dangling at my knees or beyond my elbow.Forget it. I use a 1l steel on the backplate. If I think I'm gonna need a bigger bottle, I'll do what you've done and mount it on the canister (I haven't done this in years)

Gary, I don't like the ADV t-piece rotated that way....

On my old unit, Dave T recommended rotating the exhale ADV so that the hoses route better, which I did and they do. When I added a dil MAV, I did as you've done here (so the hoses route the same way and my OCD is kept in check) but found that I couldn't get at the button so easily. With it the 'correct' way round I just reach back and my thumb lands right on it.

Of course, you'd think that with the dil MAV, you shouldn't really need to do this but I've had the odd moment where multiple bailouts have made quick and easy access a bit awkward.

I ditched the dil MAV with a few weeks anyway as I hated the configuration.

On the new unit, manual add configuration is improved (although you've removed the flow stop, which I don't get) and I've left the hose routing standard.

An additional risk I identified with the ADV purge button facing out is the possibility of snagging/damaging it in an overhead environment.

Hope your talking about Mike's unit Nick!

From personal experience having the hoses like that would drive me nuts in a wet suit / suit without a neck, as the hoses rub. On a stock unit it's not an issue on the dil and on the o2, I put the hose through the counterlung / harness velco loop

mine go though the velcro flaps then through the D rings. Still leaves plenty or room to clip stuff off. oh and those miflex hoses will eventually fray and annoy the hell out of you
