Hi there. I have had the beast for a month or so now, and have been checking out as much as I can. The bov has a crack around the tube which holds the rubber mouthpiece on. ( photo below). I am reluctant to repair it and not able to machine a new part at the moment. Does any one have a spare I can buy please? This is the older Poseidon bov. I am also on the lookout for a footplate for it too. I think Kent tooling are the manufacturers? Thanks. http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/07/24/77d7c4f9631f24bc65cb6cff9c8bb47c.jpg

The Delrin glues easily. Mine is the poseidon one, I broke it a few years back. A two part epoxy glue is still holding fine.
Maybe Nigel Hewitt still has his. He was sell bits off a little while back.

I have a Kent tooling stand that I'm willing to sell. I use mine exclusively on the travel frame, so it's surplus to requirements...

Hi there. That's good to know about the glue still holding up. Could you please post a pic of the stand, and can that be used on its own? I haven't got it onto a boat yet, but can see that it's gonna be a pig to stand up.

The Delrin glues easily.

Delrin is notorious for being an absolute friggin pig to glue. You have to use precisely the correct compound to stick delrin or it won't work. It sounds like you have used the correct stuff but pretty much any other glue would have simply melted it.

I didn't want people to read 'delrin glues easily' and think that they can fix their expensive busted life support equipment with super glue!!!!

You can get a version of a superglue for delrin, last time I looked it was £70+ for the cleaner and £165 for the actual glue, as you say it is almost impossible to glue but you can roughen it up and use epoxy or milliput as a very temp repair that normally won't last unless you use some mechanical joint method as well. I sometimes use normal superglue to hold awkward delrin & acetal shapes for machining as a sharp tap or dunk in hot water will split it easily afterwards.

If the OP gets stuck give me a shout and some dimensions / sketch / drawing and I'll machine you some bits of delrin.

Hmm... Okay, seems I just got lucky then.

Ok. Thanks for the replies. I think I'm gonna be on the lookout for a replacement part first.

Got the PM too but I'm a bit tied up ATM as I'm away next week training (Aerotow and winch) and have lots of stuff to do before setting off Tuesday.

This is the bit you want? Right? If so I'll find a box and post it when I can.

Hello Nigel. That's the part. The piece which holds the rubber mouth piece has cracked away from the square shaped body. I will message you my address. Thank you.
