Subject is wrong! The mouthpiece cracking would not be too bad but it is the mushroom valves!
A cracked mouthpiece could result in water ingress and the diver would bail out.
A cracked mushroom valve could result in gas not flowing round the loop and the diver suffering hypercapnia or hypoxia. Neither is attractive.
